Common Install Questions
Should I use the online installer or the offline installer?
The online installer and offline installer are essentially the same when it comes to what's being installed to your PC. Both validate that you have the necessary software to utilize all of the local features of the ICS Supplement.
The online installer, however, requires an internet connection to download each requirement before installation.
The key difference is, if you're lacking one of the required add-ons, the offline installer is packaged with everything you may need and will install anything missing automatically. This makes it a very big file (> 80 MB). The online installer, however, requires an internet connection in able to download each requirement before installation.
Should I install the ICS Supplement for 32-bit or 64-bit?
The 32-bit installer will install and run on either operating system (32-bit or 64-bit). In some cases, the 64-bit method is preferred by users running a 64-bit Windows operating system. If you select a 64-bit version, the 64-bit installer will only install and run on a computer with a 64-bit operating system.
For help determining the bit version of your installation of windows, please refer this Microsoft Knowledge Base article: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/827218

There is no need to install any of the prerequisite applications listed below should your desktop computer already include compatible versions as shown in the compatibility matrix in the Supplement Install Guide
The following applications need to be installed before the ICS Supplement can be installed:
- Microsoft .NET Runtime framework version 3.5.1 or higher
- Java™ Runtime Environment version 7.51 or higher
- Ogg Codecs 0.85.1777 or higher
Note: Windows 7 and higher includes a compatible version of the .NET framework by default, so if you have this feature manually disabled in your installation of Windows, the ICS Supplement will not work.
